Tomasz Kajdanowicz

Tomasz Kajdanowicz joined the CSDGC at Stanford University as a Visiting Scholar in February 2019 for a two-month visit to conduct research on complex systems analysis with augmented knowledge sources. He considers problems related to the automatic linking of hitherto unbundled and explored sources of knowledge for a deeper understanding of existing phenomena with state-of-the-art representation learning and knowledge derivation methods. 

Dr. Kajdanowicz received his B.Eng. (2008) and Ph.D. (2012) in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Poland. Tomasz Kajdanowicz received the Ph.D. degrees (Hons.) in computer science from Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Poland in 2012. His research interests focus on machine learning and its applications in complex networks and dynamic systems. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computational Intelligence, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Poland. His Ph.D. dissertation was given The Best Ph.D. Dissertation Award in AI by European Association for Artificial Intelligence-Polish Chapter, 2014. In the past he been working as visiting scholar at Stanford University, USA, University of Notre Dame, USA, Technical University of Dortmund, Germany. He was also Visiting Professor at University of Technology Sydney, Australia.

His main research interests include representation learning for complex networks, diffusion processes in networks, machine learning for networks, social media analysis and data-driven approach to smart city decision support.
