Tatiana Garcia Segura

Assistant Professor, Dept of Construction Engineering and Civil Engineering Projects, Universitat Politècnica de València

Tatiana García Segura arrived at Stanford University as a CSDGC Visiting Scholar in May 2019 for a 1-month visit to conduct research on probabilistic pavement deterioration and sustainability-based optimization of pavement maintenance.

Dr. García is an Assistant Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Construction Engineering and a M.S. in Concrete Engineering.

She is interested in integrating optimization and sustainable concepts into the planning, design and maintenance of infrastructure to support efficient decision-making. The goal of her research is to create robust methodologies that help engineers reduce the life-cycle environmental and social impact of the infrastructure without entailing additional costs.

She is currently working on several projects including (1) sustainable and optimum system for maintenance management in urban pavements, (2) optimum public-work procurement process based on environmental and social sustainability, and (3) reliability-based robust optimum design and maintenance of high social and environmental efficiency of bridges and highway infrastructures under restrictive budgets.
