Professor, South China University of Technology

Junbo Zhang

Zhang Junbo, Professor, School of Electrical Power, South China University of Technology, joined the CSDGC at Stanford University as a Visiting Scholar in September 2018 for a one-year visit to conduct research on the theory of knowledge automation and its application to modern power system operation and control.

Dr. Zhang received his B.Eng. (2008) and Ph.D. (2013) in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University. He was also a postdoctoral fellow at Tsinghua. From 2009 to 2010, he studied at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University which had a collaborative program with Tsinghua University.

He is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Electric Power at the South China University of Technology.

His main research interests include data-driven power system modeling, analysis and control, knowledge management in power systems, multi-agent simulations and the electricity market. His current research projects include: Data-based modeling and intelligent decisions in power system dynamic operation and control; Intelligent dispatcher in distribution systems; and Regularization-based anti-collinearity online sensitivity identification and its applications in power systems.
